CapyBidder

How it works

A live auction, one round at a time

No silent bids, no single winning number. CapyBidder builds tension round by round — and the longer people stay in, the more your cause raises.

The Stay-In / Exit mechanic

Every prize is a small auction of its own. Bidders take turns in a circle, and on each turn they make one simple choice.

1

Register for a prize

Each prize is its own mini-auction. Bidders join the ones they want — there's no opening bid to beat, just a seat at the table.

2

Decide each round: Stay In or Exit

When it's your turn, you choose. Stay In and you pay that round's fee — a real contribution to the cause — to keep playing. Exit and you stop, with nothing more to pay. Every fee already paid supports the nonprofit whether or not you win.

3

Last bidder standing wins

Once everyone else has exited, the final bidder takes the prize. Every round along the way added to your cause.

See it in motion

Watch one prize play out

This is the heart of CapyBidder. Round after round, bidders decide to stay or step out. The countdown keeps it lively, the field narrows, and the amount raised climbs with every Stay In — until one bidder is left holding the prize.

No single winning bid caps the total. The longer the field stays engaged, the more your cause raises.

For organizers

You run it from a browser

  • Create an event and add your prizes — donor, value, photos, and the fee per round.
  • Choose how each prize opens: immediately, on a timer, or manually when you're ready.
  • Start the auction from any computer browser and watch the live dashboard.
  • When it ends, every winner and invoice is laid out for you, with results emailed automatically.

For bidders

They play from their phone

  • Browse the active event and join the prizes you want on your phone.
  • When your turn comes, a live countdown appears — Stay In or Exit before it runs out.
  • Get a nudge when it's your move, so you never miss a round.
  • Win, and you'll see exactly what you owe and how to redeem your prize.

Why it raises more

A traditional auction ends at one person's top bid. CapyBidder keeps everyone engaged: each round, every bidder who stays contributes again. Ten bidders who each stay a few rounds can raise far more than a single winning bid — and they have a lot more fun doing it.

One thing worth being clear about: every round a bidder stays in — including the round they join — is a real, non-refundable contribution to the cause, paid whether or not they win the prize. That's by design. Only one bidder takes each prize home, but everyone who played has given something meaningful to the mission along the way.

The experience stays calm while you browse and tense only when it's your turn, so the energy lands exactly where it counts.
